The demand chart below is from a commercial ALTOU metered SDG&E customer. Like a lot of customers they had the SDG&E cursory energy audit that resulted in them changing out their light fixtures. This "free" service is paid by SDG&E customers from the Public Purpose Programs (PPP) expense on their bill. California has given the utilities a mandate to reduce energy consumption among their customers. However SDG&E, an investor utility, has NO mandate to help you strategize your energy use to get the lowest rates. Does your company need to have a clear and understandable information about your rates to take control of your energy use?

"Benchmarking" is coming, waiting could cost you energy savings!

Your company might qualify for an "Energy Star" designation and not even know it. Green Compass, inc. can do your ENERGY STAR/benchmarking registration. The "Benchmarking" process is going to be mandatory in California for all commercial leases and rentals. Also included will be commercial sales. The new bill from our legislature is AB 1103, it goes into effect July 1, 2010. Recently its implementation was delayed until January 1, 2011. It is not a difficult bill to comply with and gives the business owner a chance to qualify for an ENERGY STAR designation. Show your customers you care about the environment and you want to lower our dependence on foreign oil get ENERGY STAR "benchmarked".
